How old do you recommend
for a newborn shoot?
In order to get posed newborn photos, I recommend baby be between the ages of 5-14 days. We can certainly do a shoot after 14 days but keep in mind that the likelihood of posed sleepy shots goes down when each day of grown and development. We will always do wrapped shots and will move to lifestyle natural movement shots if baby is awake and alert.
When should I book my newborn shoot?
Please book the closest date to your due date. Once baby actually arrives, please call or text me to let me know. Then we will schedule an actual date. The most important part is getting on the books.
How many month should I be for my maternity shoot?
I recommend sometime within your 7th month for your maternity shoot. However, it's completely up to you.
Do you require a retainer or
deposit?
I require a non-refundable retainer that is due during booking. Please note, if the retainer is not paid your session is not booked. If you have trouble, please text me at 313-903-2338
Can I do an outdoor shoot?
We can definitely do an outdoor shoot but please contact me as soon as you book so we can coordinate. Many outdoor locations require a fee and booking.
Do I need to bring the cake for my cake smash session?
No, cakes are included in all cake smash sessions. Cakes are vanilla with buttercream frosting. They are make by @imadecake_ on instagram. They are bakers choice of decor to match your theme. If you'd like anything specific with the cake, please send me an email (marcia.johnson.photography@gmail.com) or text (313-903-2338) so I can get a quote. You will be responsible only for the difference of what I pay for the cake and what is charged for customization.
Do I need to bring an outfit for my maternity session?
No, I have a client closet of beautiful gowns, bodysuits, fabrics, and dresses. All outfits and bodysuits are washed with Dreft or dry/steam cleaned prior to next use. You are more than welcome to bring your own outfit. We will just beed to discuss your vision prior to your session.
Do I need to bring an outfit for my newborn session?
No, I have all the outfits, props, headbands, etc. needed for a successful session. Anything used in a session is washed with Dreft before use in the next session. I can share what I have with you and you can select which outfit you would like. You are welcome to bring your own outfit but we will need to discuss prior to your session.
When will I get my images?
You will be able to view all images taken at your session 2-3 days after your session. Once you select the images you would like, they will take 5-7 days to be delivered.
Will I be able to download all images taken?
After your shoot, all images will be uploaded into a gallery for review. All images will have "proof" on them. You will then select the 10 images you'd like edited (or 5 for mini sessions). Each additional image is $10. I do not provide unedited images.
Do you change a late fee or cancel sessions for tardiness?
I do not charge a late fee. Most sessions are 1 hour. You can arrive anytime within your shoot window but we will not go over the end time. If you decide not to show due to late arrival time, there will not be a refund given. If you are a no-call-no-show, you will no longer be able to book with me.
